A mother's belief....

One day Thomas Edison came home and handed over a paper to his mother. He told her, “My teacher gave this paper to me and told me to only give it to my mother.” His mother’s eyes were tearful as she read the letter out loud to her child, “Your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have enough good teachers to train him. Please teach him yourself.”

Many years after Edison’s mother had died, Edison had become one of the greatest inventors of the century. One day he was going through the old closet and he found the folded letter which was given to him by his teacher . He opened it, the message written on the letter was, “Your son is mentally ill. We cannot let him attend our school anymore. He is expelled.”

Edison was emotional upon reading it and then he wrote in his diary, “Thomas Alva Edison was an addled child that, by a hero mother, became the genius of the century.” Edison said many years later, "My mother was the making of me. She was so true, so sure of me, and I felt I had someone to live for, someone I must not disappoint."

A mother’s encouragement and positive affirmation changed the destiny of a child who became one of the greatest minds to live on earth.

Never give up, Be confident. Always remember, be it in life, sports, career or any competition – any battle is won twice – First in your head and then in reality...

Stay Positive!!

Strength and weakness

A 10-year-old boy decided to learn judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.

The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn’t understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move.

“Sensei,”(Teacher in Japanese) the boy finally said, “Shouldn’t I be learning more moves?” “This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you’ll ever need to know,” the sensei replied.

Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training. Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.

This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened. “No,” the sensei insisted, “Let him continue.” Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament.

He was the champion. On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.

“Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?”

“You won for two reasons,” the sensei answered. “First, you’ve almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm.”

The boy’s biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

Sometimes we  blame ourselves for our weaknesses but we don’t’ realize that our weaknesses can become our strengths one day. Each of us is special so, live your life to its fullest and make the best of it!”

Attached strings

A  Mother was  flying  a  kite. Her son was watching her carefully. After some time the son said "Mom….because of the string the kite is not able to go higher any further”

"Hearing this, the mother smiles  and breaks the string. The kite went higher and then shortly after that, it comes down and falls on the ground. The child gets very dejected and sad.

The mother sits next to him and calmly explains:

"Son, in life after we reach a certain level we feel that there are certain things that are not letting us grow any further like Home, Family, Friends, Culture etc.

We feel the need  to be  free from those strings which we believe are stopping us from going higher. But, remember son "That our home , family, friends and culture are those things that will help us stay stable in life which will in turn take us to great heights .

If we try to break away from those strings our condition will be similar to the kite". We'll fall down soon..

We are what we are now due to the way these beautiful elements have played their part in our lives- home, culture, family, friends and relationships … Spending time with them will strengthen our core  and help keep us stable while we are flying high...

50 crores

There was a trader who lived in a small town in India. He kept saving all the money he earned throughout. One fine day he decided to count  his savings so far and to his surprise it had summed up to a whopping fifty crore rupees.

“Good enough now“ said the man and promised himself that he will enjoy the rest of his life with this huge sum of earnings. The moment he decided that he would start using the fifty crores, he sensed that someone was standing right in front of him ,staring at him intensely.
The trader was alarmed and he shouted to the unknown man ,”Who are you ?!!! How dare you come into my house without my permission”. The man explained, ”My name is Death. I don’t come with an invitation .I come and…”invite”.

The trader cried , “This is not fair. When are you planning to take me ?”. Death replied , ”Right now”. The trader explained “Just now I had finished counting, I have fifty crores with me which I had earned all my life and only now I have decided to enjoy it .You cannot do this to me“. Death replied, ”Your time is over and you don’t have a choice here “

The trader went on to bargain , “I will offer you half the money I have got .Give me at least one month of life so that I can enjoy the wealth I hold and then I will be willing to come .Death said , ”I don’t think you understand how I operate. I don’t negotiate ,your time is over and so I am here to take you away.

“I will give you the entire sum of fifty crores I have got ,Just give me one day’s time in life”. But Death said, ”I cannot give you a minute extra .The trader pleaded “At least give me one last moment in life. Death yielded and said, ”Ok whatever you wish to do , do it for one moment”. The trader ran to his scribbling pad and wrote, “All of you who have money ,immediately start enjoying it “.He added note to it “I just realized that even with a sum of fifty crores I could not buy one minute of life with it !”

Think about our everyday lives . All day we keep working so hard to make money without realizing that there is a limit to which it can aid us.

Money cannot buy a day in your life . If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the tomorrow. You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success!  Make the most of today.”
